Greatest Gamer Tantrums

February 7, 2008 | Filed by Boner | 1 Comment

Ernest Hemingway once described courage as grace under pressure. We can safely presume that these gamers never read Hemingway. Gamerhelp.com has a list of the five greatest gamer tantrums.

This wretched little shit, who sounds a bit too young to be playing Rainbow Six Vegas in the first place, engages in a shouting match with his mother after she tells him to shut it off. You know, it’s one thing if you’re 18 or 16 and you give your parents some lip before succumbing to their demands, but this kid sounds like he’s 10. To make matters worse, the kid then goes on to scream at her to bring him his chocolate milk. “GET IT!” he tells her. “This is bullshit!”

Singapore Ministry of Censorship Bans Choir

January 31, 2008 | Filed by Boner | Leave a Comment

The notorious Media Development Authority (MDA) has banned a choir that planned to publicly sing a list of complaints about life in Singapore.

The “complaints choir” was going to perform at a weekend festival but the MDA said that foreigners could not participate.

Singapore’s Media Development Authority said the license was conditional because the lyrics touched on “domestic affairs” and it preferred only Singaporeans take part.

Some of the complaints that would have been sung included, “when a pregnant lady gets on the train, everyone pretends to sleep” and “when I’m hungry at the food court, I see people (reserve) seats with tissue paper.”

Snow Day in Fairfax Virginia School

January 25, 2008 | Filed by Boner | Leave a Comment

Candy Tistadt is the wife of a school administrator in Virginia, she responded to Dave Kori, a straight-A student, via voicemail after he requested a snow day.

There are two ways to characterize this story. The snotty-nosed brat having the hubris to call the personal residence of a school administrator requesting that the school shut down. Or the surly harpy leaving a nasty voice-mail that is deserving of a bitch-slap.

We side with the student, here’s why:

Kori claimed that he attempted to contact the student administrator through his office and was unable to get through. He then attempted to contact him at his residence.

There is some controversy over how bad the weather actually was, but there were reports of several road accidents that morning. The weatherman clearly advised avoiding unnecessary travel.

While her husband may have unreasonable demands on his time, Tistadt, by speaking on behalf of her husband, should have remained professional.
